WHO THE PROGRAM ADDRESSES
The open call is for performers interested in examining their work’s philosophical grounds and consequences. Practices may be instrumental, vocal, conducting, improvised, electroacoustic, digital, collaborative, interdisciplinary, installation-based, site-responsive, research-led, or situated across multiple media. Solo performers, ensemble members, conductors, improvisers, performer-composers, and performer-researchers are welcome. This range is indicative rather than exhaustive.
Projects may begin from a specific performance or interpretation, a repertoire, a portfolio of work, a developing method, a theoretical problem, a technological system, an institutional question, or a broader artistic-research trajectory. Participants should be prepared to present work in progress, engage closely with the work of others, revise their positions in response to discussion, and contribute to a collective research environment.
Participants need not arrive with a complete philosophy of performance. The programme exists to establish the conditions under which philosophical positions can be articulated, tested, differentiated, and developed through practice. Intellectual curiosity, critical openness, and a commitment to sustained exchange are therefore as important as the current state of any individual project.
